What the Web App does in FC 27

The FC 27 Web App is Ultimate Team in a browser: you open it on EA’s website and log in with the EA Account that holds your FC 27 club. Many players still call it the FUT Web App, the name it had in the FIFA years. Its phone twin is the Companion App for iOS and Android, which EA describes as the mobile version of the same tool.

Both apps work on your real club, so anything you do there is in the game the next time you switch on the console. That makes them handy away from the TV:

  • buying and listing players on the Transfer Market;
  • Squad Building Challenges, including the Streamlined SBCs added on 28 September 2026;
  • editing squads and claiming Objectives rewards;
  • Quick Sell Recovery, which exists only in the apps.

Quick Sell Recovery brings back a Player Item you sold by mistake: up to seven days after the Quick Sell, five times in any 31-day period, not for loan items, and only if your balance holds the coins you received for it.

How the Transfer Market opens in the Web App

Two separate locks guard the market, the game’s and the apps’, and opening the first leaves the second shut.

  1. Clear the starter objectives

    In Ultimate Team, open Objectives and complete The Journey Begins, then First Team Dreams, then Rising Through the Ranks. The game then grants full market access, on consoles inside a day and on PC inside two.

  2. Use the waiting time

    While you wait, selling works: you can put items up, but searching, bidding and Buy Now stay closed. Returning players in good standing skip this step.

  3. Collect active days

    Play three full Ultimate Team matches and open the Web App or the Companion App before that day ends in UTC. Extra matches that day add nothing.

  4. Wait for EA’s message

    Usually two active days are enough, at least four if other Ultimate Team accounts were used on your device. When the app market opens, the game tells you.

Returning players get the app market at launch if their EA Account is in good standing and they earned that access earlier, by 1 August of the matching year: FC 26 (2026), FC 25 (2025) or FC 24 (2024). For them the Web App was open from day one.

A Transfer Market ban from FC 26 does not follow you into FC 27, but it removes automatic access, so you earn it again with active days like a new player. Only a ban covering every FC title travels with you into the new season.

The 7 November rule for both apps

EA’s help page sets a cut-off: after 7 November 2026 at 23:59:50 UTC you need at least one Ultimate Team login in EA SPORTS FC 27 on your PC or console; without it, neither the Web App nor the Companion App lets you in. Before that date, players who qualified for early access could use the apps without ever starting FC 27 on a console.

EA does not say it in one sentence, but it follows that a brand-new player should create the FC 27 club on the console or PC first. If you only played on your phone in the first weeks, one session on the platform of your club is enough to stay inside the rule.

Signing in safely: 2FA and backup codes

EA’s Web App help page asks you to keep your EA Account up to date and links its two-factor guide. We found no EA statement that two-factor authentication is mandatory for the apps, so treat it as strongly recommended. With 2FA on, a sign-in from a new browser or phone asks for a code, delivered by mail, by an authenticator app or by SMS.

Write down the backup codes as soon as 2FA is on. According to EA, when your normal 2FA method is out of reach, for example after losing a phone, these codes are your only route into the account from a new device. The full walkthrough is on our page about EA backup codes.

Why your Web App matters for a coin order

The checkout delivers coins with Comfort Trade only: a trader signs in to your club in the Web App and moves the coins to you through Transfer Market trades. If the market in your app is still locked, the order cannot start, so finish the active days first.

Once you have paid, the checkout needs, in any case, two things from you: the e-mail of your EA account plus several unused backup codes. The trader then works within 2 hours; stay out of the Web App and the game until the order shows as completed. Large amounts may arrive in several steps.

Be clear about EA’s position: under its User Agreement and FC rules, coins may not come from third parties, and comfort trading is named outright. Possible consequences include removed coins, a Transfer Market ban and an account ban.

Questions about the Web App

Why is the Transfer Market locked in my Web App?

EA treats the apps as a separate lock. Finishing the starter objectives in the game opens the market on your console or PC, but not in the Web App or Companion App. Returning players with earlier access get it at launch; everyone else collects active days until EA sends an in-game message that the app market is open.

How many days does the Web App unlock take?

Normally two active days, for a clean account that is the only Ultimate Team account on its device. Where the device has seen other Ultimate Team accounts, created or just used, EA speaks of four days at minimum. A day only counts with three complete matches and an app visit before midnight UTC.

Do I have to play FC 27 on a console or PC to keep the apps?

Yes. EA set a cut-off of 7 November 2026, 23:59:50 UTC: from then on, the apps only let in players whose club has had at least one FC 27 session on a PC or console. One login is enough, but it has to happen on the platform where your club lives.

How does the Companion App differ from the Web App?

Hardly at all: EA describes the Companion App as the Web App made for phones, on iOS and Android. It uses the same EA Account and club, and covers the same jobs: Transfer Market, Squad Building Challenges, squad changes, Objectives and Quick Sell Recovery. The access rules for the market are identical in both.

Can EA support speed up my Web App access?

No. EA says its advisors cannot grant Transfer Market access in the apps and cannot give you a date. Playing more than three matches a day does not help either. What does help is keeping one Ultimate Team account per device and logging in to the app on each day you play your three matches.
